Synopsis - post 5/8/2008Solicitation - post 5/23/2008 Quotes due - 6/23/2008 Presolicitation Notice VA-241-08-RFQ-0268 Class Code Z NAICS 238990 Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary to clean and fill approximately 26,000 lf of cracks and open joints in roadways and parking lots at the VA Medical Center, 830 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, RI (Providence County). The work encompassed in this solicitation shall include, but not be limited to, performing all operations and furnishing all materials, labor and equipment necessary for cleaning, sealing, and filling cracks and open joints across existing bituminous pavements, including all traffic lanes, shoulders, and parking areas.. Herein cracks, crack sealing, and filling shall be understood to include: 1) sealing and filling of open joints and cracks where they occur as individual linear cracks, block cracking, and longitudinal and transverse open joints; and 2) "banding" or sealing of the perimeter cracks around areas exhibiting closely spaced, interconnected "alligator" cracking. Severe "alligator" cracked areas shall be repaired under a separate contract. Also included in the work shall be maintenance and protection of pedestrian and vehicular traffic and final sweeping of each roadway or roadway segment, and all other incidentals. The estimated construction range is between $25,000 and $100,000. The applicable NAICS code is 238990 with a size standard of $13 million. In accordance with FAR Part 19.10, this procurement is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Therefore, it is full and open competition and is unrestricted with regard to business size. Solicitation Number VA-241-08-RFQ-0268 is assigned to this solicitation and shall be referenced on all correspondence relating to this announcement and subsequent solicitation package. The government intends to award a firm fixed price contract, subject to availability of funds. Pre-quote site visits may be made by contacting Lois Brady, Staff Engineer, at (401) 273-7100 x 3201. The issue date of the solicitation is on or about May 23, 2008. The due date for proposals is June 23, 2008, at 11:00 am local time.
