The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has received a loan from the Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC) for the Implementation of the Pro-Poor Economic Advancement and Community Enhancement (PEACE) Project and it is intended that part of this loan be applied to eligible payments for the following Contract, which comes under this project.
The Bidding process will be National Competitive Bidding (NCB) and the Bidders should have following qualifications;
(a) Valid Registration in field of supplying the type of vehicles described above.
Bidding Documents can be obtain from the Office of Secretary, Ministry of Irrigation & Water Management, No. 11, Jawatta Road, Colombo 05 by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs. 2000/ = per each set. Bidding Documents and will issued from 08th May 2008 to 29th May 2008 on working days from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
The Bidder shall sign all pages of the Bidding Documents and his seal affixed.
Completed Bids should either be deposited in the Tender Box kept for this purpose in the room of Chief Accountant or sent by post under Registered Cover to address mentioned below. The sealed cover in which the Bid is enclosed should be marked "Bid for Supply of Vehicles - PEACE Project" as the case may be at the top left corner of the envelope.
Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security for the value mentioned above. Any Bid without a valid Bid Security will considered as non-responsive and will be rejected.
Bid will be closed on 02nd June 2008 at 2.30 p.m. and opened immediately after the closing at the Office of the Secretary, Ministry of Irrigation & Water Management, No. 11, Jawatta Road, Colombo 05. Late Bids will be rejected. Bidders or their authorized Representatives are requested to be present at the opening of Bids.
