 liquid assets and/or credit facilities of no less than JD500,000 (or US$0.7 million the equivalent in US$)

The Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Urban Development Project (CHTUDP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Rehabilitation of Salt Great Mosque.
This invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in United Nations Development Business and World Bank DgMarket on December 5, 2006.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) now invites sealed bids from qualified eligible bidders to remodel, renovate and rehabilitate the Salt Great Mosque and directorate Awqaf complex. The work includes converting the existing commercial ground floor into a praying hall, keeping only the frontal row of shops, dismantling the existing pre - fab minaret and constructing a new stone one, demolishing the existing dome and constructing a new one at another grid with a common vertical double space between ground and first floors. The construction period is a 600 calendar day with implementation period starting in July 2008.
Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedure as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) at the address below during office hours: (08:00 to 15:00). A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of JD200 per set and for inspection at www.tourism.jo.
Possible additional information or clarifications/questions shall be published on the www.tourism.jo.

Interest eligible bidders or their official representatives are invited to attend a pre-bid meeting that will take place at 10:00AM on May 28, 2008 at the Municipality of Salt (City Hall).
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of JD 50, 000, and be delivered to the address below by noon (12:00AM) on June 18, 2007. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend, at the address below. Late bids will be rejected.
