Primary Site at EAC Old Head Office at Nicosia and in the Disaster
Recovery Site at Vasilikos Power Station.

II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The purpose of
this Contract is to install a Windows platform with similar Servers’
Consolidation Architecture in order to support its Windows based
applications. Business Objectives: • Run various Windows applications •
Provide Continuous operation. • Assist Business Continuity • Operational
cost reduction • Provision of better services to users • Provide improved
Productivity • Improved capacity planning Operational Objectives: •
Provide an acceptable and consistent application performance • Implement
online dynamic allocation and re-allocation of resources (such as CPU and
memory) between applications • Enable single point of control and central
administration • Reduction of floor space requirements • Provide easy
Upgradeability, Serviceability, Expandability • Enable the implementation
of an efficient and reliable disaster recovery site Scope of Work: The
following requirements should be taken into consideration in order to
fulfill the needs of EAC for a complete Hardware solution. • Three
Consolidation Servers (2 at the primary site and 1 at the Disaster
recovery) must be provided. • Consolidation Servers should support
multiple virtual machines (explicitly defined in Paragraph 5.4.1). • Use
of the existing Storage Area Network (SAN) with Synchronous hardware
host-independent replication to the DR site over the EAC’s CWDM backbone.
• The DR site systems should not be idle, but be in active use. • Windows
2003 Server Datacenter Operating System Edition (or Windows Server Code
Name Longhorn if it is released by then). • Use of the existing backup
tape libraries (acquired with the UNIX platform) at both Primary and DR
sites • Maintenance and support services.
