1.               The Government of Guyana has received a Grantfrom the International Development Association toward thecost of theHIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Project, and it intends to apply partof the proceeds of this Grant to payments under theContract for the supply and installation of Equipment  for hazardous healthcare wastecollection and treatment.

 

2.               The Ministry of Health now invitessealed bids from eligible bidders for, One Compactor, one shredder and one Steam powered Autoclave and one Waste Collection Vehiclefor hazardous healthcare waste collection and Treatment

 

3.               Bidding will be conducted throughthe limited international bidding procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDACredits. The firm offering the lowest overall evaluated price will be chosen.      

 

4.               Interested eligible bidders mayobtain further information from Mr. Prakash Sookdeo, Procurement Officer ,Health Sector Development Unit, Ministry ofHealth 592-225-3470, Fax (592) 2256559, Email: psookdeo@hiv.gov.gy or prakash_sookdeo@excite.com andinspect the bidding documents at the addressgiven below 9:00am # 3:00pm on working days. Bidding documents can bepurchased on thesubmission of a letter requesting the purchase of the bidding document along with a certified cheque in the equivalent amount offifteen thousand Guyana dollars or equivalentcurrency. The certified cheque shall be payable to the Health Sector Development Unit.

 

5.               The document will be sent by email to overseas firms.

 

6. Bids must bedelivered to the addressbelow at or before 9.00am local time on June 10, 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security often thousand five hundred United Statesdollars. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose toattend at the address below at 9.00am local time on June 10,2008
