The Government of Nepal has received financing in the amount of US$ 25.3 equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Second Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Government of Nepal (GoN).

The project will include the following components: i) strengthening and operation of the Board; ii) selection and construction of water supply and environmental sanitation schemes; and iii) institutional development studies.

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (Published January 1997, revised September 1997, January 1999 and May 2002)

Specific procurement notice for contract for Consultancy Service for Design and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation System which would include Management Information System (MIS) and a Decision Support System (DSS) for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Sector in Ministry of Physical Planning and Works (GoN), Nepal under International Competition will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dgMarket and in local news papers.
