II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Cambridgeshire
County Council is looking for a host organisation that will be responsible
for the establishment, maintenance and support of a LINk in Cambridgeshire
to carry out the following activities: - promoting and supporting the
involvement of people in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of
local health and social care services; - enabling people to monitor and
review the commissioning and provision of care services; - obtaining the
views of people about their needs, for and their experiences of, local
health and social care services; - making their views known to those
responsible for commissioning, providing, managing and scrutinising those
services. Within Cambridgeshire there is an expectation that the LINk will
utilise existing involvement mechanisms to provide and input into LINk.
The Council will receive a base-line amount of GBP60,000 plus an
additional amount based on the Relative Needs Formula (RNF) from the
Secretary of State for Health for the LINks activities. The contract is
for an initial period up until 31 March 2011 however it may be extended
for up to an additional 2 years subject to funding being made available.
