1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in UN Development Business, issue no.676 of April 16, 2006 and notice number WB1140-676 posted online on March 27, 2006.

2. The Ministry of Health has received a Grant from the Trust Fund for Iraq administrated by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of the Emergency Disabilities Project.

3. The Ministry of Health through its Project management team PMT now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Procurement of Rehabilitation Equipment to be used in the Iraqi Governmental Health Directorate.

4. Bidding will be conducted through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Ministry of Health/PMT and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm Baghdad time from Sunday to Thursday.

6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of 126,000 ID (one hundred twenty six thousand Iraqi diners) or US$100.00 (one hundred US dollar) The method of payment will be either cash payment or wire transfer payment to the following address.

8. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before ((11th of June, 2008, 11:00am Baghdad Time)). Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below on ((11th of June, 2008, 11:00 am Baghdad Time)). All bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security Declaration”.
