Transportation and disposal of soil.
II.5) Short description: The European Central Bank (ECB) tendered the
transportation and disposal of soil, including contaminated soil related
to the construction of the new ECB premises. The new ECB premises will be
built on the site of the former wholesale market hall in the eastern part
of D-Frankfurt-on-Main (Sonnemannstraße). The site comprises approximately
120 000 m².
During the construction of the new ECB premises soil from anthropogenic
and geogenic origin (partly contaminated) will be excavated at a number of
locations all over the project site during several building phases. The
successful tenderer shall transport and dispose of soil excavated by the
contractor for the preliminary building works (Tender T069 responsible in
particular for the construction pit) of up to approximately 90 000 m³. The
ECB will have the option to commission the successful tenderer with
transport and disposal of soil excavated by the general contractor (Tender
T070, ongoing) who executes all remaining construction works on site.
The total volume excavated sums up to approximately 255 000 m³, of which
210 000 m³ have to be transported for off-site disposal and/or utilisation
following the progress of excavation.
