The Corps of Engineers has a need for a contract to Rehabilitate the Johnstown Channel, Unit 4, Harveys Wall Replacement. The work is located at the Little Conemaugh River in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The major features of work for the basic contract , Unit 4, includes, a) removal and replacement of approximately 215 linear ft. of concrete gravity wall (average height of 13 ft) just upstream of the Johns Street Bridge on the left bank of the Little Conemaugh River and b) localized spall repair on concr ete slope lining in the river channel between the Johns Street Bridge and approximately 200 ft upstream of the Swank Court Bridge. The work for awardable options A, B and C (Unit 4) includes localized concrete toe repair in the river channel within the sa me area as the localized spall repair of the basic contract. These options are delineated along reaches of the river channel (lower, middle & upper). The work for awardable option D (Units 3 & 4) includes, a) weephole cleaning, b) removal of vegetation an d c) pipe railing repair at various areas along the Conemaugh and Little Conemaugh Rivers. Also included in Option D is one pipe railing repair deficiency item along the left bank of the Stonycreek River in Unit 6.
Contract Period. The period of perfo rmance will be 200 calendar days. Magnitude of the project is between 500,000 and 1,000,000. The Invitation For Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately April 21, 2008 on-line only through FedTeDS therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored. Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation through FedTeDS at http://www.fedteds.gov. Once registered, vendors, plan rooms and printing companies will be able to download the solicitation and drawings on or after the above issuance date.
