Invitation to Bid (ICB) Hashemite Kingdom ofJordan Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) Technical Development Department (TDD) CULTURAL HERITAGE TOURISM AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT P0818234 LOAN IBRD 7426-JO Rehabilitation of Streets, Public Spaces,and Traffic and Parking Management /Karak The Government ofthe Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has receivedfinancing from the World Bank toward thecost of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Urban Development Project (CHTUDP), and intends toapply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Rehabilitation of the Street Network and InfrastructureImprovements in the Historic Core of Karak. Thisinvitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in United Nations DevelopmentBusiness and World Bank DgMarket on December 5, 2006. The Ministry ofTourism and Antiquities (MoTA) now invites sealed bids from eligible qualified biddersfor the Rehabilitation of the Streets, Public Spaces (including street furnishing, lighting, parking meters and landscaping) and Traffic and Parking Management in the Historic Core of Karak City. The construction period is 22 months with implementation period starting in July 2008. Bidding will beconducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in theWorld Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDACredits, (current edition), and isopen to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further informationfrom and inspect the bidding documents from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) at the address below during officehours: (8:00 to 15:00). A complete set of bidding documents in English may bepurchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundablefeeof JD500 per set and for inspection at www.tourism.jo. Possible additional information or clarifications/questionsshall be published on the www.tourism.jo. The qualification criteria established in the Bidding Documents include: § general experience § successful specific experience within the last five years as prime contractor of at least two workscontracts (to complywith these requirements, works shall be at least 70% complete) of a nature and complexity equivalent to theWorks under bidding with at least one of a value not less than JD5.0 million, § a Project Manager with 12 years experience in works of an equivalent nature and volume including noless than 7 years asManager; and § financial status of the firm considering the annual turnovers for the last five years § liquid assets and/or credit facilities of no less than JD1,000,000 (or US$1.4 million the equivalent inUS$). Interest eligible bidders or their official representativesare invited to attend a pre-bid meeting which will take place at 10:00AM on April 14, 2008 at the Municipality of Karak All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of JD100,000, and be delivered to the address below bynoon (12:00AM) on May 19, 2008.
