This project entails constructing approximately 20 miles of 4-wire, barbed wire fence with metal T-posts to replace fencing that was burned during the Poe Cabin fire of 2007. Work will be divided into smaller project areas and multiple contract awards will be considered. The fence line is located along the boundary between the Nez Perce National Forest and the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area west of White Bird, Idaho between Cow Creek and Camp Howard. The entire project is located in Idaho County. The period of performance will begin approximately May 15, 2008 and extend through October 31, 2008. The price estimate for the total project is 100,000-250,000. The solicitation will be issued in April of 2008.
