Headquarters, US Army Sustainment Command (ASC) has a requirement for the fabrication and delivery of ammunition fiber containers with spacers and fuze collar protectors. These components are used for hand grenades such as the M18 Colored Hand Smoke Grenade. The container is fiber, type 3, class 1 in accordance with Military Specification MIL-C-2439E dated 25 Apr 86, with Amendment 7 dated 26 Mar 01. Three (3) each Spacer, fiberboard, solid sheet stock, type SF, class weather resistant, grade W6S, 0.060 stock thickness in accordance with ASTM D4727 shall be inserted in the bottom half of each container. The collar is in accordance with Military Specification MIL-C-2439E dated 25 Apr 86, with Amendment 7 dated 26 Mar 01. The production requirements for the M18 Smoke Grenade components are approximately 900,000 each at an approximate minimum rate of 100,000 per month. Production requirements also include sustaining this rate for the next five years, starting from FY08 thru FY12. ASC intends to issu e a Request for Proposal, W52P1J-08-R-3019 to the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Acquisition Business Website, http://acquisition.army.mil on or about January 31, 2008 with an opening date 30 days after issuance. This contract will be restricted as a small business set-aside, NAICS code 332999 with a small business classification size of 500 employees or less. It is FOB Destination to Pine Bluff Arsenal, Pine Bluff Arkansas. Drawings for this tech data are Distribution X and available to only those firms certified with the US/Canada Joint Certification Program. For information on becoming certified, see www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp. Restricted technical data will not be forwarded to a contractor who has not been certified. A copy of the Certified DD Form 2 345 is required to be submitted with any request for solicitation. All contractors who provide goods/services to the Department of Defense (DOD) must be registered in the Central Contractors Register (CCR). If you are not registered in CCR, you cannot be awarded a DOD Contract. You may register via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov.
