FAA to Host Annual National Small Business Procurement Opportunities Training Conference and Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada: The Annual FAA National Small Business Procurement Opportunities Training Conference and Trade Show will be hosted, June 16-19, 2008, at The Riviera Hotel & Casino located at 2901 Las Vegas Blvd., South, Las Vegas, NV 89109. The forum will provide small businesses knowledge on how to contract with the FAA, and give valuable information on FAA procurement opportunities (such as construction, information technology support services, management services, engineering services, facilities support services, environmental services, telecommunications services, major system and subsystem manufacturing, security guard services, architectural and training services etc.) The FAA annually obligates more than 3 billion in goods and services (over 1 billion a year in support services awarded to small businesses.) In Fiscal Year 2007, the FAA awarded 31 of the total procurement dollars to small businesses, 7 to 8(a) certified firms, 11 to small disadvantaged businesses, 5 to women-owned businesses and 1 to service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. The FAA continues to aggressively reach out to the nation's small businesses by conducting technical panel sessions and procurement opportunity workshops that are specifically focused on awarding contracts and subcontracts to small businesses. Workshop sessions will address business issues and concerns, and provide specific procurement information that will help increase small business opportunities with the FAA. Small businesses are encouraged to market their capabilities during one-on-one networking sessions with federal agency technical and procurement subject matter experts, and by participating in the Exhibit Hall Trade Show. Large businesses with major FAA contracts will also be on-hand to provide specific subcontracting opportunities and conduct industry subcontracting/mentor-protg workshops. FAA acquisition representatives from Washington Headquarters, William J. Hughes Technical Center, Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Western Service Area, Central Service Area, Eastern Service Area will also be available throughout the conference (including the FAA Acquisition Executive, Service Center Directors, Air Traffic Organization Director for Information Technology, Chief Information Officer, Terminal Services, Enroute Services, Terminal Services Manager of Engineering Services, Airports Division Manager, Airport Modernization Project Manager, National Airspace System Architecture Director, Small Business Development Program Director, Small Business Innovation Research and Technology Transfer Program Manager, Office of Security, Technical Operations Services Initiative Lead, Technical Operations ATC Facilities Power Systems Program Manager, Manager of Acquisition Services, Contracting Officers, Division Manager for Construction/Office of Facilities, Assistant Chief Counsel, Logistics Center, Regional Administrators, and various other Air Traffic Organization technical representatives from across the FAA.)
