of Pharmacy Xcelerate is:
to support ongoing attainment of excellent levels of skills and knowledge
relevant to all aspects of the pharmacy, among a workforce that is
committed and content. It seeks to support ongoing learning capability in
the Network membership.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: The general aim of Pharmacy Xcelerate
is:
to support ongoing attainment of excellent levels of skills and knowledge
relevant
to all aspects of the pharmacy, among a workforce that is committed and
content.
It seeks to support ongoing learning capability in the Network membership.
Objectives of this contract include:
— To increase participation in training by Network members to improve
competitiveness,
— To provide improved access for workers for skills development,
— To improve the level and quality of training and development activities
in Network Pharmacies already investing in training,
— To increase the level of training in Network pharmacies where little
training has taken place to date,
— Encourage a culture of life long learning in the Network pharmacies,
— Promote and encourage entrepreneurial ownership,
— Promote adoption of new techniques and technologies to assist business
needs,
— To address, in an ongoing way, basic IT and other skill development
needs of pharmacy workers,
— To focus on management training relevant to Network members, recognising
this is a gap in training provision within the sector,
— Offer new learning interventions based on innovative methods, in
particular addressing the identified barriers of access and applicability
e g. pharmacy specific, cluster training, web based training,
— Promote, foster and deliver training relevant to business needs, as per
attached plan (Appendix 1),
— To monitor and evaluate training events and programmes offered to assure
enterprise training is adding value. In particular, Pharmacy Xcelerate
will support performance benchmarking among pharmacies utilising standard
pharmacy process measures in order to improve both competitiveness,
quality and safety in the pharmacies,
— Promote, foster and deliver service/ innovation concepts within the
community pharmacy setting.
