UPDATED GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

This notice updates the earlier notice published on Feb 6, 2006.

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt. of India has received financing in the amount of US$ 170 Million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Second National Tuberculosis Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM rounds 2, 4 & 6) to the amount of US $ 64.487 million.

The project will include the following components (i) Pharmaceuticals for treatment of Tuberculosis i.e Rifampicin, Isoniazid, Ethambutol, Pyrazinamide and Pyridoxine in prescribed Blister calendar combipack and in loose numbers and Streptomycin Injection and Ofloxacin, Ethionamide, Cycloserine, NaPAS in blister Combipacks & Kanamycin Injection, I.P or equivalent (ii) Laboratory and other equipments; (iii) Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) etc.

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank and GFATM will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition).

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dgMarket and in local newspapers apart from the project website (www.tbcindia.org).

Interested eligible bidders who wish to be included on the mailing list to receive invitations to bid under ICB procedures, and interested consultants who wish to receive a copy of advertisement requesting expressions of interest for consultancy contracts, or those requiring additional information, should contact the address below.
