The Republic of Sudan has received financing in the amount of US$ 15.0Million equivalent from the Multi Donors Trust Fund (MDTF) through World Bank toward the cost of the Community Development Fund Project , and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project is jointly financed by the MDTF and Ministry of Finance and National Economy of the Republic of Sudan

The project includes the following components: (A) Community Development Subprojects to provide local communities with sub-grants to (i) improve the access of basic social services (ii) enhancing incomes or employment opportunities (iii) carrying out social programs, training, education, life and employment skills, and (iv) enhancing environmental protection initiatives
(B) Capacity Building, Monitoring and Evaluation and project Management for all beneficiaries, communities, NGOs and CBOs.

To achieve those tasks the Project will use International Competitive Bidding (ICB and NCB) for the procurement of goods as describe below:

Vehicles of diesel engines 4x4, 6 seaters, station wagons or of 5-10 seaters.

Generator sets 10-15KVA and generator set 50KVA (vehicles and generators provided with necessary fast moving spare parts)

Desk tops and laptops Computers with software and flash disks, one computer server with equipments, UPSs,

Audio-visual equipments including digital/video cameras, Multi media projectors, printers,

Office equipment such as Photo copiers, TV Sets, Satellite receivers, fax machines & desk telephone sets, Radios HF all items required to be delivered to Sudan with sea freight to Port Sudan and /or airfreight to Khartoum air port.

The project also intends to recruit consulting firms to carry out a number of assignments such as:

• Local governments assessments study ,
• Mobilization and intermediations within local communities and
• Communities Capacity building and training consultancies services.
• Management Information System (MIS) & Fanatical Management System (FMS) designing and development.
• V.SATs equipments and Services

Procurement of contracts financed by the MDTF-World Bank will follow the procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders.
Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dgMarket and in national newspapers on Last week of July and August.
