Individual service contract forecast
1. Publication reference: EuropeAid/ 125754/D/SER/BW
2. Procedure: International restricted tender.
3. Programme: 9th EDF.
4. Financing: The service procurement notice may be launched with a
suspension clause, pending the approval and signature of the financing
agreement between the SADC Secretariat and the European Commission.
5. Contracting authority: The Regional Authorising Officer of the
European Development Fund, Executive Secretary, SADC Secretariat, Private
Bag 0095, Gaborone, Botswana.
6. Nature of contract: Technical assistance.
7. Contract description: The fee-based contract, of 34 months' duration,
covers 2 full-time TA (total 68 calendar months) with expertise in
agricultural research management and experience in management of research
networks.
The purpose of the project is to enable national agricultural research
systems in the SADC member States to enhance their capacity to research
common regional constraints and opportunities in agriculture through
regional initiatives.
By virtue of the complementary nature of the 2 phases of the ICART
project, the expected results of ICART-2 are similar to those of ICART-1.
However, most of the financial resources in ICART-2 will be directed
towards results that could not adequately be addressed in ICART-1,
especially support to research networks.
8. Indicative maximum budget: EUR 903 500.

11. Legal basis: ACP-EC Partnership Agreement signed at Cotonou on
23.6.2000.
Decision No 2/2002 of the ACP-EC Council of Ministers of 7.10.2002
published in OJ L 320 of 23.11.2002.
