6. Contract description: Supply of 26 of utility vehicles for the EU
livestock project. It is divided into 3 lots:
lot 1: 3 × single-cabin vehicles (2-door);
lot 2: 14 × extra-cabin vehicles (2-door);
lot 3: 9 × double-cabin vehicles (4-door).
The vehicles purchased under this contract are meant for strengthening and
enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of delivery of veterinary and
other livestock extension related services in the country. Farmers and
other clients will be the main beneficiaries.
7. Indicative number and titles of lots: 3 lots only.
8. Intended timing of publication of the procurement notice: June 2007.
9. Additional information: All vehicles shall be 4-wheel-drive, equipped
with diesel engines, import duty exempted, c.i.f. city of Phuntsholing —
Bhutan.
10. Legal basis: Council Regulation (EEC) No 443/92 on financial and
technical measures to accompany the reform of economic and social
structures in the framework of the Euro–Asian partnership (ALA), as last
amended by Council Regulation (EC) No 2112/2005 of 21.11.2005 on access to
Community external assistance.
