1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no.626 of 16 March 2004
2. The Government of Grenada has received a Loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and a Credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the OECS Education Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan and credit to payments under the Contract for 4 lots of Science Equipment for Secondary Schools in Grenada
3. The Project Coordinating Unit (PCU) acting as the implementing agency for the Government of Grenada now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders to supply Science Equipment for seven schools (4 lots) required within a delivery period of 8 to 12 weeks.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project Coordinating Unit and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given at (1) below from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
6. The successful bidder should furnish Audited Financial Statements of Accounts for the last three (3) years and should have executed at least two (2) contracts of similar sizeand value in the last three (3) years. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Document
7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address given in Address (1) below andupon payment of a non refundable fee of EC$ 270.00 or US$100.00 or equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The method of Payment shall be a direct transfer to the Government of Grenada Project Account (A/c No.: 102200108) at the Grenada Cooperative Bank in St. George's, Swift Code: GROAGDGD. The bidding document will be sent via courier at the bidder's expense.
8. Bids must be delivered to the address given at (2) below at of before 3:00 p.m. (1500 hours) on Friday 13th July, 2007. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will not be accepted. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address given (2) below commencing immediately after closure of the tender period. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security as follows: Lot 1 US$ 1000, Lot 2 US$2,000, lot 3 US$2,000 and lot 4 US$3,600US or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
