REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

AusAID, the Australian Agency for International Development, manages the Australian Government’s official overseas aid program. AusAID assists developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development, in line with Australia’s national interest. AusAID is seeking an organisation to undertake the following development project in Australia:

Australian Leadership Awards Scholarships - Leadership Development Program

The Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) initiative provides education opportunities in Australia to current and emerging leaders from 34 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. The goal of ALA is to achieve a skilled and outward looking cadre of leaders, with strong links to Australia, who lead reform, development and governance in priority areas across the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to post graduate education opportunities, the ALA Scholarships program will fund a Leadership Development Program (LDP). The LDP aims to enhance the skills, knowledge and networks of ALA Scholarship recipients, helping to equip them for future leadership roles in their communities, businesses and governments.

It is anticipated that the LDP project will commence in about September 2007 and will continue until December 2011.

Selection of a contractor to implement the LDP will be on a two-step basis. The closing date for submission of expressions of interest is Tuesday 3rd July, 2pm (Canberra time).
