The Government of Grenada has received a loan from the International
Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of USD 5,060,000
equivalent, and has received a credit from the International
Development Association in the amount of USD 5,000,000 equivalent
toward the cost of the Emergency Recovery and Disaster Management
Project, and it intends to apply the proceeds of this funding to
payments under the contract for Western Main Road Rehabilitation And
Sea Defenses - Works. Bidding for contracts financed by the
International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and
International Development Association will be governed by the
procurement rules specified in the World Bank Procurement under IBRD
Loans and IDA Credits[1]. It is open to all bidders from eligible
source countries as defined in the guidelines.

The project will strengthen the ability to direct disaster management
agencies, and enhance their capacity to mitigate adversity, concerning
particular disasters such as floods, landslides, storm surges, and
hurricanes in Grenada.

The Ministry of Works, Communications and Public Utilities now invites
sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following lots:

- Lot 1:

- Road-repair works
- Sea defences

Road rehabilitation and sea defense works to the Queens Park to
Grand Mal Bay section of the Western Main Road.

The delivery is to be accomplished in days.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect
the bidding documents, at the Project Coordination Unit of the
Emergency Recovery and Disaster Management Project from 0900 to 1500
hours daily Monday to Friday.

Bidding is allowed for whole lots only.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and
inspect the bidding documents at the Ministry of Works, Communications
and Public Utilities at the address below. A complete set of bidding
documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the
submission of a written application to the address below and upon
payment of a nonrefundable fee of XCD 1.

Bids must be delivered to the address below by 15:00 on 31 October
2001. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security equivalent to XCD
200. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence
of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below
on 31 October 2001 at 15:00.
