Abstract:	Education, Training and Development Initiative for Support Staff in the Irish Health Service. The Health Service Executive (HSE) invites providers to tender for a major education, training and development initiative for support staff in the Irish health and personal social services. The scope of this contract is for the provision of education, training and development initiatives to address the needs and aspirations of circa 28,500 supervisors and support staff in the health services which include healthcare assistants, porters, catering assistants, household staff, semi-skilled persons/crafts-person's mates/maintenance persons, home helps/community carers, family support workers, general assistants, CSSD/TSSD technicians, therapy assistants, speech and language assistants, laboratory aides and laundry staff etc. The contract will be awarded for a period of four years initially with an option for the commissioners to extend it for a further year. This arrangement is conditional on a successful independent evaluation of the initial pilot programme(s). SECTION III: LEGAL, ECONOMIC, FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION III.1) Conditions relating to the contract III.1.3) Legal form to be taken by the grouping of suppliers, contractors or service providers to whom the contract is awarded: No specific legal form is required but each supplier will be required to become jointly and severally responsible for the contract before acceptance.
