The Gambia and Senegal Works contract forecast 1. Publication reference: EuropeAid/120675/D/W/GM 2. Procedure: International open tender. 3. Programme: 9th EDF. 4. Financing: Not approved (the award of the contract is subject to the approval and availability of funds through financing agreement). 5. Contracting authority: Department of State for Works, Construction and Infrastructure in The Gambia, Banjul, The Gambia. 6. Description of the contract: The works will be awarded in two lots through two works contracts. The works contracts provide for periodic maintenance, rehabilitation and upgrading of a considerable part of the regional trunk roads in The Gambia (approx. 250 km) and Senegal (approx. 20 km). The project roads, located all over the territory, and indicative lengths are: 1. the road from Barra to Amdallai (19,9 km); 2. the road from Mandina Ba to Seleti (12,7 km); 3. the Trans-Gambia Highway (25 km); 4. the road from Soma to Basse (193 km); 5. the road from Basse to Sabi and Velingara (22,5 km). The expected works contracts' performance period is 28 and 36 months. 7. Indicative number and titles of lots: 2 lots. 8. Scheduled publication date: Mid-January 2005. 9. Other information: Tender will be launched prior to financial agreement under suspensive clause following provision of Article 5 of the General Regulations for contracts financed by 9th EDF (Decision No 2/2002 see hereunder). 10. Legal basis: Partnership agreement ACP-EU signed in Cotonou on 23 June 2000. Decision No 2/2002 of the ACP-EC Council of Ministers of 7 October 2002 regarding implementation of Articles 28, 29 and 30 of Annex IV to the Cotonou Agreement and Annex published in the OJ L 320 of 23 November 2003. Notes: There must be an interval of at least 30 calendar days between the publication of this contract forecast and the publication of the corresponding procurement notice. Natural or legal persons interested should not therefore send proposals or requests for information at this stage. |
