| Abstract: | Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Counselling Service for Prisoners with Drug Related Problems. CPV: 85312300, 75122000. Guidance and Counselling Services. Administrative Healthcare Services. It is expected that a requirement will arise for a managed counselling service, incorporating between 5 and 10 counsellors, each providing services for approximately 20-30 hours per week, to a number of prisons in the Dublin area. More detailed information will be provided in the call for competition. This service is expected to include: The provision of a counselling service for prisoners with drug-related problems; The provision of a line management service for counsellors; The provision of professional supervision; The development of a counselling service in consultation with Irish Prison Service Headquarters; Liaison with prison management and Irish Prison Service Headquarters on the ongoing development, delivery and management of the counselling service; and The maintenance of individual records, in either paper or electronic format, and the provision of MIS to Irish Prison Service Headquarters. It is expected that the contract will be awarded as a single lot. However, the Irish Prison Service reserves the right to sub-divide the contract by prison, if no suitable tenders are submitted for the provision of the service on a national basis. |

II.4) Scheduled start of award procedure: 11.6.2004. II.5) Other information: It is expected that the competition will be a restricted procedure. Expressions of interest will be sought, in the call for competition, from suitably qualified candidates. From this a shortlist will be compiled and tender documents will be forwarded to candidates on the shortlist. The awarding authority reserves the right to interview candidates prior to the finalisation of the shortlist. Candidates wishing to participate may indicate so in writing to the address specified at I.1. Any documents submitted to the awarding authority shall be subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997. It is expected that the term of the contract will be for a three-year period, subject to an annual review, commencing in December 2004 or January 2005.
