1. Establish a national food authority as an efficient structure able to

well as deliver adequate information to government, consumers and food
producers;
2. Develop the institutional and legal basis for an effective protection
of the consumer;
3. Contribute to the approximation of national legislation with the
'acquis communautaire' in the field of food safety;
4. Improve the public awareness and involvement in food safety issues.
