for: II.3) Nature and quantity or value of the supplies or services for
each of the service categories:
For the benefit of the staff of the following departments in Vienna,
- the Representation of the European Commission in Austria,
- the Delegation of the European Commission to International
Organisations (currently 11 people),
the European Commission intends to enter into a framework contract
providing local officials with cover under an occupational pension
scheme, by way of pension insurance. In addition to current employees, a
maximum of 13 former employees should be able to benefit from such a
policy. The pension insurance in question must cover the following:
- old age insurance,
- survivor's benefit,
- occupational invalidity pension.
Contract duration: the Commission intends to enter into a framework
contract for an initial 4-year period; this framework contract may be
renewed for three 2-year periods. Maximum total length: 10 years.
Contract value: estimated contract value for the probable total length of
the contract (10 years): 77 000 EUR (value excluding VAT).

Second quarter of 2005.

- the Representation of the European Commission in Austria,
- the Delegation of the European Commission to International
Organisations (currently 8 people),
the European Commission intends to enter into a contract providing local
officials with cover under an occupational pension scheme, by way of
pension insurance. In addition to current employees, a maximum of 16
former employees should be able to benefit from such a policy. The
pension insurance in question must cover the following:
- old age insurance,
- survivor's benefit,
- occupational invalidity pension.
Contract value: for information only, a maximum budget amount of EUR 620
000 has been allocated to this invitation to tender for backdated
payments.
For currently employed local officials: best estimates available
regarding maximum amounts are as follows: 10 % *EUR 4 050 (current
maximum basic salary) * maximum length of 35 years (number of years
between 2005 and the year in which the youngest person will retire) * 14
months per year* 8 local officials equals EUR 1 587 600, which sum will
be upwardly indexed each year for a maximum of 35 years in line with
annual salary adjustments. These figures are given for information only.
